Inspired by the illuminated frontispiece of a mid-15th century book made in Shiraz for Turcoman Prince Pir Budaq, this is a contemporary interpretation of one of the high points of classic illuminated design.

Working on Fabriano acid-free paper, with hand-made mineral pigments including Afghan lapis lazuli, malachite, cinnabar, orpiment and read lead, as well as gold, and silver.
