Iron Genie evokes the proud steel structures of Victorian engineering. This pervaded every aspect of the design and fabrication, from the hand-rendered technical drawings to the choice of steel, sold brass and hand-craftsmanship for its fabrication.

• All steel parts are hand-cut with a plasma-cutter and heat treated in the forge.
• The central column is finished with hand-machined solid brass finials.
• The mirror is made with palladium leaf using a gilder's technique called Verre Eglomise.
• The mirror is framed with a hand-beaten brass bezel.
• All the working parts - the fulcrum-pins, gimbal, and arm-pivots are hand-made.
• The table-top and mirror are etched zinc plates. A limited edition of prints have been taken from the plates.
